Crispy Roasted Cauliflower
This recipe for roasted cauliflower is a delicious, crispy, and flavorful alternative—so good, in fact, that it might just outshine your favorite meat dish! With its golden-brown crust and tender interior, it makes a perfect snack, side dish, or even a main course.
Ingredients
1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra crunch)
Optional garnish: fresh parsley, lemon wedges, or a drizzle of your favorite sauce
Instructions
1. Prepare the cauliflower
Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
Thoroughly wash and dry the cauliflower florets. This ensures they get crispy while roasting.
2. Season the cauliflower
Place the cauliflower florets in a large bowl and toss with the olive oil.
Sprinkle with garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, oregano, salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese (if using). Mix well to ensure the florets are evenly coated.
3. Roast the cauliflower
Spread the seasoned cauliflower evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure the florets are arranged in a single layer so they roast evenly. Roast in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, turning halfway through, until the florets are golden brown and crispy at the edges.
4. Serving
Remove from the oven and place the crispy cauliflower on a serving platter.
For extra flavor, garnish with fresh parsley, a squeeze of lemon juice, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Tips for success
Even cooking: To ensure even cooking, cut the cauliflower into evenly sized florets.
Extra crispy: For a crispier texture, slightly increase the oven temperature or broil for the last 2 to 3 minutes.
Add some heat: For a spicy kick, sprinkle with paprika flakes or cayenne pepper.
