But the moment she revealed what she had brought for her mother, the old woman nearly collapsed to her knees…
PART 1
My wife left me with our seven children for our wealthy neighbor, saying she “deserved a better life.” Ten years later, she came back for our youngest daughter’s birthday, but what she showed her mother made her knees buckle.
I remember that day like it was yesterday.
I came home from work early and caught my wife, Tiffany, with our neighbor Curtis right there in our bedroom.
Everything inside me dropped.
Then she put her hands on her hips and said:
“Well, what did you expect? You never gave me the life I deserve! But Curtis gives me everything I want. We even went to the Maldives recently.”
Curtis wasn’t just our neighbor. He was also my best friend.
My voice trembled.
“God, Tiffany, how can you do this to our family? We have seven children! And Molly just turned two!”
Tiffany just packed her bags and said that I “would manage on my own” and that she needed to “build her own life, and the kids would only get in the way.”
Then Tiffany and Curtis simply disappeared.
Can you imagine what it’s like when seven little kids cry at night and call for their mom?
I didn’t have to imagine it.
It was incredibly hard for me.
At first, I took two jobs. Then, somehow, I took on a third just to keep us afloat.
I never remarried. Women stayed away once they heard I had seven kids.
I basically devoted my entire life to my children. And I don’t regret a thing. They grew into incredible people.
At first, Tiffany would occasionally ask how the kids were doing, but then she disappeared completely.
She chose that path, but you know, I don’t want to judge anyone.
Ten years passed.
And yesterday was Molly’s birthday.
She invited some of her friends from school, our whole family, and we just had a barbecue in the backyard.
Then suddenly, someone knocked on the door.
It was Tiffany and Curtis.
My stomach twisted.
She stood on the porch smiling. Then she walked into the house as if I weren’t even there.
Molly happened to be in the kitchen getting another slice of cake when she saw her mother.
Molly looked absolutely shocked to see her mom for the first time in 10 years.
Then Tiffany smiled and said:
“Sweetheart, now we can finally be together. Look at all the gifts I brought you. See? I left to build a better life so you could have all of this now.”
Curtis wheeled a brand-new bike into the hallway, and Tiffany handed her a new tablet.
It was the exact one Molly had been dreaming about, but I couldn’t afford something that expensive.
Then Molly smiled and said:
“Mom, thank you. I’m glad to see you too, and I’d like to show you something. I have something here on my phone.”
Molly tapped something on her phone.
Then she handed it to Tiffany. Curtis was standing beside her and looked at the screen too.
Tiffany went pale.
And Curtis looked like he’d just bitten into a whole lemon.
Then Tiffany screamed so loudly that all the guests came running to see what had happened:
“How dare you, you little brat?!”
PART 2
My Wife Abandoned Me With Seven Kids for My Wealthy Best Friend. I Never Wanted Revenge, Until She Screamed at Our Youngest Daughter.
I’m Gary, I’m 53, and I’ve spent the last ten years raising seven children alone.
I repair furniture for a living. We were never wealthy, but our kids always had what they needed.
My ex-wife, Tiffany, wanted more.
“That woman’s handbag costs more than our refrigerator,” she’d complain, nodding toward a neighbor.
“Then let’s hope it keeps her groceries cold.”
“Everything’s a joke to you, Gary.”
“Not everything.”
“Look at Curtis. New car, expensive vacations. Why can’t we live like that?”
“Curtis doesn’t have seven children.”
“There’s always an excuse with you.”
Curtis lived next door and was my best friend. I had even given him a spare key to our house.
I believed almost anything deserved a second chance, whether it was a cracked table or a person.
I was wrong about some things.
Ten years ago, a canceled appointment sent me home early.
I heard voices upstairs.
When I opened our bedroom door, Tiffany and Curtis were together.
“Gary!” Curtis jumped backward.
My wife barely moved.
“How long?” I demanded.
“Don’t make a scene.”
“With my best friend? In our bedroom?”
“Maybe you should ask why I needed someone else.”
“Gary, buddy…” Curtis began.
“Don’t call me buddy.”
Tiffany folded her arms. “I deserve a better life. Curtis understands what I want.”
“What about our seven children? Molly just turned two!”
“I’m tired of changing diapers while you barely pay the bills.”
She’d already been to the Maldives with Curtis, telling me she was visiting her sister.
“So you’re leaving?”
“Yes.”
“And the kids?”
“You’ll manage.”
As she packed, I tried once more.
“Molly still sleeps holding your sweater.”
“Then give her another blanket.”
She wasn’t just leaving me. She was abandoning our children.
The first night, Molly cried until sunrise.
“Daddy, where’s Mommy?”
“She’s not coming home tonight, sweetheart.”
“Tomorrow?”
I couldn’t answer.
Our oldest daughter, Jenna, was sixteen then. She found me sitting on the kitchen floor at dawn.
“Dad, are we going to be okay?”
“Absolutely.”
“You don’t sound sure.”
