800 g pork or chicken, cut into cubes
2 large onions, chopped
2 bell peppers, diced
1 can of pineapple chunks (optional)

Ingredients for the shashlik sauce:
2 tbsp tomato paste
400 ml passata (strained tomatoes)
3 tbsp red wine vinegar
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp paprika powder
1 tsp mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp oil for frying
📍Preparation:
Preparing the shashlik skewers:
Thread the meat, onions, bell pepper pieces, and, if using, pineapple chunks alternately onto the skewers. Place the skewers in a shallow dish.
Making the shashlik sauce:
Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the chopped garlic.
Add the tomato paste and sauté briefly.
Pour in the strained tomatoes and stir.
Add the red wine vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, mustard, salt, and pepper. Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10-15 minutes, until slightly thickened.
Grilling the shashlik:
The shashlik skewers can be cooked either on a grill or in a griddle pan.
Brush the shashlik skewers with some of the prepared sauce while grilling to enhance the flavor. Ensure the meat is cooked through.
Serving:
