Ingredients  

For the Pasta

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni Perfect for holding onto all that cheesy goodness!

For the Meat Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef The star protein that offers rich flavor and heartiness.
  • 1 medium onion Chopped finely to add a slight sweetness and depth.
  • 2 cloves garlic Minced for an aromatic kick that enhances the entire dish.

For the Cheese Sauce

  • 2 cups cheddar cheese A classic choice that melts beautifully.
  • 8 oz cream cheese Adds creaminess and helps blend all the flavors.
  • 1 cup milk Use to thin out the sauce for a velvety consistency.

Seasoning

  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper Essential for enhancing flavor.
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning A sprinkle adds a delightful herby twist.

Method 

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the elbow macaroni for about 7-8 minutes, until it’s al dente.
  3. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, then stir in the finely chopped onion and minced garlic.
  4. Drain the cooked macaroni and combine it with the beef mixture in a large bowl.
  5. Create the cheese sauce by melting cream cheese in a saucepan over low heat, gradually stirring in milk and cheddar cheese.
  6. Combine the cheese sauce with the macaroni and beef mixture, coating well.
  7. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  8. Transfer to a greased baking dish, spreading evenly.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and lightly golden.
