Ingredients
2 cups water (still or sparkling)
1–2 inch fresh ginger root, sliced or grated
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1–2 tbsp lemon juice (extra for tang)
1–2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (to taste)
Ice cubes
Instructions
1. Make Ginger Base
In a small pot, bring 1 cup water + ginger to a simmer.
Let it simmer 5–10 minutes (longer = stronger flavor).
Strain and let cool slightly.
2. Build the Drink
In a glass or jar, add ice, lemon slices, and lemon juice.
Pour in the ginger liquid.
Add honey/maple syrup and stir well.
3. Finish
Top with remaining water (or sparkling water for fizz).
Stir and taste—adjust sweetness or lemon as needed.
