Method
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut the pastry into squares, approximately 4×4 inches each.
- Mix the filling: combine diced ham, shredded cheese, and Dijon mustard if using.
- Spoon about 2 tablespoons of filling into the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the pastry squares into triangles, sealing the edges firmly with a fork.
- Brush the tops of the pastries with the beaten egg.
- Arrange the pastries on a lined baking sheet with space in between.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Cool the pastries on a wire rack for a few minutes before serving.
