Ingredients

For the Pasta

  • 250 grams Penne Pasta Classic pasta shape for holding the creamy sauce perfectly.

For the Chicken

  • 300 grams Chicken Breast Tender and juicy, provides a satisfying protein boost.

For the Veggies

  • 1 medium Bell Pepper Adds a sweet crunch and vibrant color.
  • 1 medium Zucchini Offers a mild flavor and nutritious touch.
  • 2 cups Spinach A nutrient-packed green that wilts beautifully in the sauce.

For the Cheesy Garlic Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons Butter Richness at its core, helping to create a velvety base.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Infuses the dish with a delightful aroma and flavor punch.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Makes the sauce decadently creamy and smooth.
  • 100 grams Grated Parmesan Cheese A must-have for that cheesy allure.
  • Salt To taste, enhances all the flavors, making them pop.
  • Black Pepper To taste, adds a hint of warmth and spice.

For the Garnish

  • A few leaves Fresh Basil Lends a burst of freshness and bright flavor.

Method

Directions

  1. Boil the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil and cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente, about 10-12 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.
  2. Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of oil and sauté the chicken breast pieces until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 6-8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Veggies: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of oil, then toss in the diced bell pepper and sliced zucchini. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender and vibrant.
  4. Add Garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant, taking care not to let it burn.
  5. Prepare the Sauce: Pour in the heavy cream, stirring gently to combine with the veggies. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper, letting it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Combine Everything: Return the cooked chicken and drained pasta to the skillet, tossing everything together until the pasta is well coated in the creamy sauce. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed to reach your desired consistency.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with torn fresh basil. Serve immediately to enjoy the flavors at their best!
