Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 2 cups Fresh mushrooms Adds a delicate earthiness and depth of flavor to the quiche.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese Offers a rich, gooey texture that melts beautifully in the bake.
  • 4 large Eggs The binding agents that create a fluffy, custard-like consistency.
  • 1/2 cup Cream or milk Choose cream for a richer taste or milk for a lighter option.
  • 2 tablespoons Green onion Provides a fresh, oniony crunch that brightens the dish.

For Seasoning

  • 2 tablespoons Butter Used for sautéing the mushrooms, imparting a delicious, rich flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances all the flavors and balances the creaminess.
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Adds a subtle smokiness and a pop of color to every bite.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper Offers a mild kick that complements the other ingredients perfectly.

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms, sautéing until they become golden and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, cream, salt, paprika, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix until fully combined for a delightful, fluffy filling.
  4. Incorporate the sautéed mushrooms, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onion into the egg mixture. Stir gently until everything is well-distributed and coated.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the quiche is set and the top is beautifully golden brown.
  7. Cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
