The answer would have to come from facts, not family pressure.
That was important because Vanessa had spent eighteen months telling Allison that her questions about the family business were paranoia.

Allison returned to the footage.
She watched Vanessa approach the table.
She watched her bend down.
She watched her hand close around the object.
Then Vanessa walked away with it.

For Allison, that missing moment became the line she could not cross without evidence.
She could not say what the object proved.
She could say Vanessa had deliberately returned for it.
And that was enough to change the next question.
Not whether Allison was overreacting.
Not whether the family would be embarrassed.
Not whether asking questions might damage the business.
