Method
How to Make Rich Creamy Lasagna
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions for about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and egg. Mix well until smooth and creamy, creating that perfect cheesy layer.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Layer 3 lasagna noodles on top, then add half of the cheese mixture and another cup of marinara. Repeat the layers, finishing with noodles and remaining marinara on top.
- Sprinkle 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the last layer of marinara sauce. This will create a beautifully cheesy crust as it bakes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and cover the lasagna with aluminum foil. Bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and lightly golden.
- After baking, allow the lasagna to rest for at least 10 minutes. This step is essential for letting the layers set, making it easier to slice and serve.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves for a touch of color and an aromatic finish.
